About The Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science began its humble journey along with the college in the year 1963. It offered courses in the plus two and in the undergraduate level as a pass subject. Though there were no shortage in the number of students in the plustwo and the undergraduate (pass) level, there was a fall in the year 2000 when the College had to, I discontinue the plus-two courses, following government policy.However, the demand for Political Science as a combination-subject in the undergraduate level continued to grow among the students. The introduction of Honours course in the year 2003 was an important step for the College as a whole and for the Department in particular. No longer have the students passing out from the nearby schools and aspiring to study Political Science Honours had to seek admission to far off colleges. We have Started late-a long wait for forty years to introduce the Honours courses, but with vigour.
