Games & Sports Department run by a sports committee under supervision of joint sports convener. Present conveners are Associate Professor Netajee Prasad Kuiry and Assistant Professor Subrata Das both are from Department of Commerce.
Department of Games & Sports, Vidyanagar College Started functioning from the year 1970-71. Vidyanagar College organizes the Intra-College Annual Sports every year. The students also participate in the various inter-college and University level and District level events through out the year.In the year 1990 Vidyanagar College students were instrumental in winning the Heramba Chandra Memorial Shield. Furthermore, several students of the college have set examples in representing University of Calcutta in Athletics and Kho Kho. Some students also participated at National & International Level Games & Sports.
Notably, the Sports Department of Vidyanagar College organized an Interactive Session on Soccer Training on 11th February, 2006. This event was graced by the chief guests Mr. Michel Souvestre, Chief Coach, F.C Auveres of France and Mr.. Wolfgang Mullar, Project Manager, Alisk Mémorial Society The Department was also involved in organizing “ Total Protect Programme” in collaboration with Proctor and Gamble Institution in order to train the girl students on self defense 2005-06.

- CU Inter College (Kho Kho) Championship [Men] Winner as follows – 2000 -01, 2001-02, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2013-14, 2019-20.
- Our Student Gorachand Barui participated in the First Indo-Bangladesh Bangla Games event (Kho Kho) as International Events 2006 -07.
- CU Inter College (Kho Kho) Championship [Women] – Runners up in the year 2007-08.
- CU Inter College (Kho Kho) Championship [Women] in the year 2013-14.
- T-20 Cricket tournament organised in the occasion of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Residential College Centenary Tournament – Runners Up in the year 2010-11.

- Medal for Athletics Gold Medal in Shot Put by Ankan Patra in CU Inter College in the year 2019-20.
- Gold Medals in Athletics – Shot Put by Ankan Patra in Inter College State Sport & Games Championship 2019-20.
- Gold Medals in Discus Throw by Ankan Patra in CU Inter College State Sport & Games Championship 2019-20.
- Bronze Medal in High Jump by Timor Ghorui in CU Athletics in the year 2021-22.
- Gold Medal in Shot Put & Discus Throw by Sumit Mondal in Inter College State Sports & Games Championship 2023-24.
- Bronze Medal in Broad Jump by Puja Biswas in Inter College State Sport & Games Championship 2023-24.
