Initially the College was allowed to teach the Higher Secondary (10+2) curriculum. The B.Sc. two year General degree course in Physical Science was approved in 1983. The Higher Secondary section was terminated from the college in 2000 and Three Year General degree course was introduced in the college by Calcutta University from 2000. The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) was introduced in 2019 and the Curriculum & Credit Framework (CCF) under the New Education Policy (NEP) was introduced in 2023. A well-defined Chemistry Laboratory is there for Practical classes. Now two new laboratories with modern equipments and teaching aids are going to be built shortly in Room nos. 63 & 64 in the first floor of the New Block above the Seminar room. The Department utilizes classes in both white board-marker as well as audio-visual through power-point projector mode. The Department of Chemistry organized a 30 hours Value-Added Course on Food Adulteration and Detection from 12.06.2023 to 22.06.2023.
