About The Department of Education

Vidyanagar College was established on 29th June, 1963 in order to provide quality education to the local students. Unlike many other subjects Department of Education was inaugurated in the year 2006. The department commenced its journey under the able leadership of Prof. Soma Mukhopadhyay and Prof. Anita Saha. Currently Prof. Samir Ghosh leads the department along with the able accompaniment of Prof. Riya Bhattacharjee. Presently, the Department offers General courses for the Under Graduate Students. The department commenced with a sanction of 70 students more than 17 years ago. Presently it has university permission to allot 1349 total no. of seats of B.A. Class. Among them, the general section of the education department currently admit students as per the ratio. A huge number of students prefer Education because of the able management of the department and the career driven aspects of the subject.
